Meet coach Tatum Bell.
He's always seen himself staying with the game, even after his playing days were over.
His coaching days have arrived. He is leading the running backs crew at Smoky Hill High School.
"It's just a learning curve, just trying to get the guys to work hard and compete. That's all it's about and of course having fun," Bell told 9News.
"I was surprised, at first I didn't believe it but then the 1st day of practice I was like is that Tatum Bell," said senior running back Joey Tuggle. "I was happy, excited I was telling all my friends and everything."
Tuggle says he sees improvement already, and he's only worked with Bell for a couple of weeks.
"At first it was intimidating, 1st few practices, after that I got used to it," Tuggle told 9News.
Bell was a tough runner in his NFL days, and guess what? He's a tough coach as well.
"He gets mad easily," said Tuggle with a smile.
"I do, I do," responded Bell, "Because a lot of them don't push themselves, like they should push themselves."
Bell would like to be a college or pro coach or scout someday.
But for now, he's focused on making the Buffaloes a football contender.
