Assuming all goes well in the rehabilitation process he would be eligible to return to the practice field in 6 weeks and play in 8 weeks meaning he would be available at some point during the playoffs.
McGahee tore his MCL and broke a bone in his leg during the second quarter of the game against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
He is the teams leading rusher with 167 carries for 731 yards and has touchdowns on the year.
The Broncos will now turn to Lance Ball, Rookie Ronnie Hillman and possibly Knowshon Moreno to carry the ball.
