Vieselmeyer has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Houston Baptist University and issued the following statement regarding his departure.
"The Valor experience represents the pinnacle of my high school coaching career, and words cannot express how much I will miss the players, parents, colleagues, and community members who have been instrumental in building the program into what it is today.
The leadership at Valor has provided an opportunity for me to be involved in the ministry at an exemplary Christian school.
From the day we arrived in Colorado, my family was welcomed and embraced by the Valor community, and we will always be grateful for the unconditional love and support we have experienced.
This is a bittersweet moment. While I have every confidence that the Valor tradition of excellence will continue, it will do so without me. Valor - its students, faculty, staff, parents, friends and supporters -will forever have a place in my heart and mind.
I have had the opportunity to coach many wonderful young men who were supported by tremendous families and I am very proud of the way they are being transformed.
We've accomplished much as a team but I am most proud of the men our players have become who represent Christ with commitment and character. The opportunity to be a defensive coordinator at the college level is a call that God has placed before me, and I believe it is one I must accept; just as I did in 2007 when we came to Valor. Valor Christian Head of School Kurt Unruh said, "Since Brent joined Valor in 2007, he has consistently represented our school, our faith and our commitment to excellence on and off the field.
This college-level opportunity, which is rare for a high school coach, speaks to Brent's leadership and the caliber of the football program he assisted in developing at Valor. We will miss him and wish him all the best as he moves on to Houston Baptist University."
Under Vieselmeyer the Eagles were 55-11 in varsity competition.
