Uhlaender finished .01 seconds behind gold medalist Marion Thees of Germany to claim the silver. In sloppy track conditions caused by rain, Pikus-Pace moved up one spot in the second run to finish third. Her previous best on the German track was ninth.
Uhlaender was in position to claim her third victory of the season when she made a mistake on the 360-degree Kreisel corner and lost some speed.
"I wasn't even sure I was still on the podium after missing my steer in Kreisel," Uhlaender said. "I could have run away with the race if I hadn't missed that second pressure. It definitely cost me."
Thees leads the overall standings followed by Britain's Elizabeth Yarnold and Germany's Anja Huber.
