American Julia Mancuso proved Monday that her impressive Olympic career in Alpine skiing is far from over. Mancuso took bronze in the women's super combined. It is her fourth Olympic medal.

No other American woman has more than two Olympic medals. Sochi is Mancuso's fourth Olympics and she won silver in the super combined in 2010.

Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany won gold in Monday's event in Sochi and Nicole Hosp of Austria took silver.

The U.S. women's hockey team beat Switzerland Monday with a 9-0 win. In the first period of the game, the U.S. scored three times in the span of 55 seconds.

The Americans will face their Canadian rivals on Wednesday.

A disappointing day for speed skating star J.R. Celski in the men's 1500-meter short track event.

Celski won the bronze in this event in Vancouver in 2010, but Monday in Sochi, he finished fourth. Charles Hamelin of Canada won gold.
