DENVER - Two wide receivers on one show. Bennie Fowler joins Emmanuel Sanders on the Broncos Huddle Wednesday night.
Both Fowler and Sanders scored in the Broncos loss at home against the Chiefs on Sunday night. Fowler scored what most thought would turn out to be the game winning touchdown late in the 4th quarter only to see Kansas City come back and win the game in overtime.
Sanders had his best game of the season so far with 162 yards, 99 of which came on one drive. Sanders is the Broncos leading receiver and is the only one to get over 100 yards this season. He's now done it twice, but emphasized after the game that he's only concerned about making the playoffs.
“It’s a tough division. I mean, the statistics speak for itself. If you look at everybody’s record, everybody’s coming in the different games and they’re playing well. We’ve definitely got our hands full. But if we want to make the playoffs and we want to go on a run and we want to go back to back, we’ve got to pretty much win out and just keep going and get hot. That’s what it’s about.”
Sanders and Fowler caught two of the three touchdowns thrown by Trevor Siemian. The Broncos quarterback had the best game of his career with 368 yards, but again it was in a losing effort making Sundays game in Jacksonville a must win for the Broncos.
Sanders will have a little different look on Sunday against the Jaguars. Watch the video to see how he plans on helping the homeless with new cleats for the game.
The Broncos Huddle airs every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. on 9NEWS and re-airs again on Channel 20 at 10:30 p.m.
