Madison, WI (Sports Network) - Ben Brust scored 22 points to help lead the
Wisconsin Badgers to an 81-56 win over the California Golden Bears in a non-
conference bout at Kohl Center.
Brust also contributed five rebounds, four assists, and three steals for
Wisconsin (5-3), while Jared Berggren added 18 points and eight boards. Ryan
Evans put up 13 points and Sam Dekker chipped in 10 points for the Badgers,
who have won two of three.
Allen Crabbe scored a game-high 25 points, while Justin Cobbs netted 11 for
Cal (6-1), which had won its first six games of the season.
Wisconsin got out to a comfortable 37-24 lead at halftime thanks to a 48.4
percent showing from the field in the opening frame. Cal made 40 percent of
its field goal in the first half, but it turned the ball over 12 times.
The Badgers' field goal percentage improved to 55.6 percent after intermission
as they led by as many as 29 points.
The Bears committed 23 turnovers on the afternoon, which the Badgers converted
into 25 points.
