Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Frantz Massenat matched a career-high with 25
points to lead the Drexel Dragons to a 77-60 victory over the Georgia State
Panthers in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at GSU Sports Arena.
Massenat, who is coming off a season-low five points in a loss to St. Joseph's
earlier this week, shot 9-of-15 from the floor and was perfect from the free
throw line, making all six attempts. The Dragons (5-8, 1-0 CAA) also got 15
points from Damian Lee and 13 points off the bench from Tavon Allen. Daryl
McCoy was dominant on the glass, pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds.
R.J. Hunter netted 23 points for Georgia State (5-9, 0-1), which has dropped
its last five games. Devonta White added 11 points, while Cameron Solomon
finished with 12.
Drexel went into the locker rooms leading 37-33 after a relatively even first
half in which the Dragons shot 42.3 percent from the floor while the Panthers
shot 42.9 percent. The difference in the half was Drexel's ability to get to
the foul line, where they made 10-of-13 attempts compared to just 5-of-6 for
Georgia State.
The Dragons opened the second half on a 28-12 run to pull away. They shot a
lofty 65.2 percent from the floor in the frame.
Drexel is now 11-3 all-time against Georgia State.
