Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) - Bashaara Graves hit the free throw to force
overtime and sealed No. 9 Tennessee's 78-75 victory over Florida at the foul
line.
With the Lady Vols down 70-69, Graves had an opportunity to put them in front,
but she made only 1-of-2 free throws with 12.6 seconds remaining in
regulation.
In the extra session, the Gators were down one when Christin Mercer went to
the free-throw line with 8.9 seconds remaining. She missed both attempts,
forcing the Gators to quickly foul.
Graves sank both free throws, and Tennessee (13-3, 4-0 SEC) escaped the
O'Connell Center with the win on Kayla Lewis' missed 3-pointer.
Meighan Simmons paced the Lady Vols with 27 points, while Graves finished with
17 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
Jaterra Bonds had 18 points for the Gators (13-5, 2-2), who got 11 points
apiece from Carlie Needles and January Miller.
