Athens, OH (Sports Network) - Reggie Keely recorded a double-double with 15
points and 10 rebounds as the Ohio University Bobcats posted a 72-63 win over
the Bowling Green Falcons in a Mid-American Conference battle at the
Convocation Center.
T.J. Hall and Walter Offutt both added 12 points for the Bobcats (17-6, 8-1
MAC) and D.J. Cooper 10 points to go along with a game-high eight assists as
the team opened league play with eight wins in nine tries for the first
time since the 1984-85 campaign.
The Falcons (9-14, 4-6) were paced by A'uston Calhoun who tallied a game-high
19 points and also pulled down eight rebounds as the team had a two-game win
streak snapped. Jordon Crawford responded with 17 points and Craig Sealey
eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.
Shooting 46.2 percent from the floor in the first half, the Bobcats led by as
many as seven points in the period, but had to settle for a 35-34 edge at the
break.
In the second half BGSU quickly grabbed a one-point lead in the first minute
of play, but immediately following the hosts put together a 13-1 run to regain
control and eventually deliver the nine-point win.
Ohio survived despite shooting just 6-of-23 behind the 3-point line on the
afternoon.
