New York, NY (Sports Network) - Justin Sears and Brandon Sherrod netted 10
points apiece to lead the Yale Bulldogs to a 75-56 win over the Columbia Lions
in an Ivy League clash at John L. Lee Amphitheater.
13 members of the Bulldogs (10-15, 4-4 Ivy) registered at least two points as
Yale has earned its third win of its last four contests.
Steve Frankoski scored a game-high 16 points for Columbia (10-12, 2-6) while
Brad Gilson made 3-of-5 from behind the arc en route to 11 points. The Lions
have now fallen in back-to-back games.
Yale jumped out to a 43-21 halftime edge after Columbia shot just 31.8 percent
in the opening period while coughing the ball up 12 times.
After Frankoski scored the first five points of the second half, Yale ran off
nine points in a row to regain the momentum. Yale shot 56.5 percent in the
second half and outrebounded Columbia, 16-9.
Despite the loss, Columbia still leads the all-time series, 122-100.
