Statesboro, GA (Sports Network) - Karl Cochran scored 16 points and Spencer
Collins posted a double-double as the Wofford Terriers defeated the Georgia
Southern Eagles, 53-47, in a Southern Conference brawl at Hanner Fieldhouse.
Collins had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Lee Skinner put in 11 points while
coming a rebound shy of his own double-double for Wofford (12-17, 6-10 SoCon)
which had lost back-to-back games entering play.
Eric Ferguson tallied 11 points as the only player in double figures for
Georgia Southern (11-17, 5-10) which has lost four of its last five games.
Though the Terriers shot just 33.3 percent from the field in the first half,
they still managed to take 26-21 lead at the break by holding Georgia Southern
to just six field goals on 25 percent shooting.
Cochran, Collins and Skinner combined to score 25 points in the second half as
the Terriers shot 46.2 percent from the field to close out the victory.
Wofford had a 40-31 edge in rebounds and outscored the Eagles, 11-4, in second
chance points.
