David Bruton gives back thanks to Bike for Books

KUSA - Broncos fans are used to seeing David Bruton on the football field, but the Safety has other interests. If Bruton is not on the field you can probably find him on a bike, as long as it's not a stationary bike.

"I hate stationary bikes, I hate treadmills, if my legs are moving I want to go somewhere," said Bruton. "

Who knew getting in shape could be so much fun.

"I feel like my wind has gotten better and it's a lot easier on the knees. I'm not that young whipper snapper I once was my rookie year," Bruton said in an interview with 9News during a recent ride in Evergreen.

Bruton loves being on two wheels, whether it's a mountain bike or a road bike, but if he was forced to choose between the two, David would choose mountain biking because, "I like to jump."

On Sunday July 26th David Bruton is hosting Bike for Books. It's an 8.24 mile family fun ride starting at the parking lot of Elevation Cycles at 2030 E. County Line Rd. Highlands Ranch. Packet pickup for the event is at 8:30am. The ride begins at 10am. Riders are encouraged to bring in new or gently-used books suitable for First to Third Graders. Check the book Wish List on Brutons.Books.org for suggestions.
