FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Broncos QB Tim Tebow finished their AFC divisional playoff loss to the Patriots in significant pain, according to an ESPN report.

The second-year QB, renowned for his durability, tore cartilage where his rib attaches to the sternum, suffered bruising around his lung and had fluid collect in his chest, according to the report.

Tebow was hurt in the beginning of the third quarter after throwing a pass, but resolved to finish the game no matter the score. The Patriots won 45-10.

According to the report, Tebow had an MRI Monday on his chest, though the results are not known. His offseason training regimen is expected to start on schedule.

Earlier this week, Broncos VP of football operations John Elway lightly endorsed Tebow, announcing that he would be atop the depth chart entering training camp.
