Basketball: Fossil Ridge headed to first Final Four in school history

Fossil Ridge beat Arapahoe 68-58 in a 5A Great Eight game Friday night at the Denver Coliesum.

The Sabercats are headed to the Final Four for the first time in school history and will take a perfect (26-0) record with them to Boulder.

Alex Semadeni and Evan Smith each scored 18 points to lead the team. Semadeni also grabbed 10 rebounds to record a double-double. He watched in the stands three years ago when Fossil Ridge played in their only other Great Eight game. They lost that game, but not this year. After making school history Semadeni said he was "speechless".

Ethan Brunhofer led all scorers with 22 points. Arapahoe made the Great Eight for a sixth straight season. Their season comes to an end with a (20-6) record.
