CONIFER -- It has been six years since the Conifer Lobos won the Mountain Bowl against their rival the Evergreen Cougars. Friday night the Lobos took back the hardware with a 28-17 victory.
In the first half, the Cougars would send one through the uprights to go up 3-0; however, the Lobos would later call as Conifer's Mason Meyer would hall in a catch, weave through the defense and make his way to the end zone.
Less than a minute before half, Evergreen quarterback Luke Solawetz would connect with Lucas Berninzoni for the score to go up 10-7 to end the half.
In the second, Conifer made a few solid throws for yardage to eventually allow them to reach the end zone. Conifer's Mason Meter would record three of the Lobos touchdowns.
Although Evergreen would score once more in the second half, they would fall to their rival 28-17.
Conifer is now 7-1 overall this season.
