KUSA - In his final season playing football, Austin Conway got off to a great start, as he helped Overland defeat Smoky Hill 50-15.
Smoky Hill entered the game under unfortunate circumstances. Their head coach was fired two weeks before the season and the Buffaloes were forced to quickly assembled a new coaching staff and try to be as prepared as a team can be with a new system and staff before Saturday's game.
Unfortunately for the Buffaloes, their first game was against a rival with an explosive offense.
Austin Conway, who announced this summer he will be playing basketball at the University of Wyoming, led the Trailblazers with three passing touchdowns and one rushing.
Overland will host Littleton next on Friday at 7 p.m. and Smoky Hill will look to grab their first win under new regime when they face Rock Canyon Thursday at 7 p.m.
