Denver East gets third 5-0 win in a row

Denver East vs Cheyenne Mountain field hockey

DENVER -- The Denver East Angels shut out the Cheyenne Mountain Indians 5-0 for their third 5-0 win in a row only three games into the season.

Entering the game, the Denver East Angels haven't allowed a goal in two games. In those two game they netted 10 goals against opponents Liberty and St. Mary's Academy.

Different opponent yet the same story. East senior, Kate Burney told 9NEWS that one of the team's goals is to score within the first five minutes of the game and that allows them to keep their momentum throughout the game.

The Cheyenne Mountain Indians were unable to generate much offense because of the overwhelming offensive possession held by the Angels.

Denver East took home yet another 5-0 win in their third game of the season.

Goal scorers included: Lucy McHugh, Maddie Darre, Lily Herrmann, Kate Burney, Thyra Herrmann, and Eve Van Berkel.

Denver East faces Golden next Thursday, September 8.
