No. 1 Denver South football shuts out Thornton to remain undefeated on the year

Denver South beats Thornton 44-0.

DENVER-- In the 2016 regular season, the Denver South Rebels scored a perfect 10.

Now, it's time for the playoffs.

In its last game of the season, Denver South shut out Thornton 44-0 to improve to 10-0 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the 4A Mountain League.

Once again, the rushing duo of Marcus Lindsay and Derius Pinkett led the way, dominating on the ground with the first two touchdowns of the game as the Rebels pulled away early and never looked back.

Quarterback Amon Wright also had himself a nice game, connecting with Darrien Golden on a beautiful deep ball to give Denver South a 27-0 lead.

Thornton forced a turnover on defense early in the second quarter with a chance to make it a two-score game, but the Denver South defense held strong once again to uphold its shutout.

Now, the Rebels will wait to see where they fall in the 4A state playoff bracket.
