Former Thunder Ridge swimmer Annie Ochitwa sets school record at Missouri

KUSA - A former high school swim star is now breaking records two states away.

Annie Ochitwa--a Thunder Ridge High School graduate from the class of 2015--is now swimming for the University of Missouri.

On Saturday, Nov.18, she made sure her name won't be forgotten around Columbia, Mo. anytime soon.

The Highlands Ranch native broke a school record with a time of 47.58 in the 100 yard freestyle, a mark she set during preliminary heats Saturday morning. It was a record that had stood for five years at the school.

Ochitwa's incredible all-around performance helped the Tigers take first in the Mizzou Invite over the weekend.

The junior won three event titles--the 100 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly--during the meet.
