BROOMFIELD -- Mountain Range hosted their annual King of the Mountain tournament Saturday with a handful of 5A softball teams from around Colorado.
Mountain Range faced a talented Arapahoe Warriors team for their second game of the tournament after a 10-0 win against Westminster.
The defending state champs, Mountain Range, scored first posting runs in the first and second, eventually leading 4-0 heading into the 4th inning.
Arapahoe would pull within two in the 4th after a two-run RBI by McKenna Klein; however, this would be the closest the Warriors would come to the Mustangs.
In the 5th, Mountain Range's Trinity Gallegos nails one way past the fence for a two-run home run and a definitive lead.
Mountain Range wins 11-2 after seven innings.
