KUSA – Mountain Vista star soccer player Mallory Pugh is once again adding to her already impressive resume. On Wednesday, U.S. Soccer announced Pugh was named to the U.S. Women's National Team Olympic qualifying roster.
The 17-year-old is now the youngest player ever to be named to such a team, and will join the likes of some of the world's most dominant athletes in the sport.
Of the 20 women on the roster, 13 were members of the 2015 Women's World Cup championship team, including midfielder Carli Lloyd and goalkeeper Hope Solo.
Pugh and team USA will be back in action February 10-21, when they participate in the 2016 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship tournament in Texas.
Pugh scored a goal in her international debut last week against Ireland, while playing for the U.S. Women's National Team. She is the 19th player for the U.S. Women's National Team to score a goal in her debut.
