THORNTON -- The 2016 Gymnastics State Championship brought both familiar faces and new faces to the podium from last year.

The Pomona Panthers went back-to-back in the 5A team title after a close battle with the Overland Trailblazers. Panthers gymnasts Brooke Weins took first in the all-around, while teammates Kaylie Berens and Kelsey Boychuk took third and fourth to help Pomona over the Trailblazers.

Weins squeezed by Lakewood's Amber Boll for the all-around with a final score of 28.925, Boll finishing with 38.275. The Pomona sophomore also took home individual championships on the uneven bars and beam as well.

In 4A, Green Mountain took home their first team gymnastics state championship since 2008. Green Mountain edged out second place Niwot and third place Elizabeth with the help of gymnasts Camille Dipaola and Emily Graham who finished second and third in the all-around.

Emily Graham also took the 4A uneven bars individual title and Camille Dipaola took the 4A floor individual title.

Rachel Cody, a junior at Standley Lake High School, defended her all-around individual title with 37 points.
