Regis gets revenge on Creek, wins season-opener 19-7

Regis Jesuit defeats Cherry Creek 19-7 on Friday, September 2, 2016.

AURORA - After losing the past two season-openers to Cherry Creek, the Regis Raiders defeated their rival 19-7 Friday night.

Junior DJ Jackson led the Raiders on the ground with two rushing touchdowns. The first was a 50-yard sprint to the end zone on the opening drive. Quarterback Justin Lamb also snuck past the goal line for his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Cherry Creek's only points came in the second quarter, when Alex Padilla floated a perfect pass to Dimitri Stanley with less than six minutes in the second quarter.
