Regis Jesuit vs Eaglecrest football quarterfinal

AURORA -- The Regis Jesuit Raiders handed the Eaglecrest Raptors their first loss of the season 34-24 in the quarterfinals of the 5A football playoffs Friday.

The Raptors took their only loss at the worst part of the season, during a single-loss elimination tournament. After going 11-0 this season and leading 21-10 in the first half, the Raptors were unable to gain any traction in the second half.

Regis' Justin Lamb connected with both Quentin Birch and Aubrey Marschel-Parker for big gains and scores for the Raiders. Backs DJ Jackson, Kiahn Martinez and Alfred Jones also helped move the ball on offense.

Eaglecrest's Victor Garnes had a 60-yard pick-6 to help give his team the lead in the second quarter; however, the Raptors were unable to hold on.

Regis Jesuit will now face Pomona in the semifinals next Friday.
