LITTLETON -- The Rock Canyon Jaguars score a run in the 4th and 5th innings to squeeze by the Heritage Eagles 2-0 after seven innings.
The game was a pitching battle as Jaguars' Sydney Marchando and Eagles' Emily Womeldorff struck out batters in the first three innings to keep the game scoreless.
Womeldorff recorded seven strikeouts, while Marchando recorded 11 strikeouts, one of which ended the game and sealed the win.
The Jaguars would score one run off a hit to left field by Darkia Brown in the 4th inning and in the 5th, catcher Sloane Stewartson gets all of a pitch. Stewartson sends the ball over the fence to left field for the solo home run.
Rock Canyon's two runs are good enough for the 2-0 win. The Jaguars are now 3-6 heading into their game against 4-4 Ponderosa on Friday.
