SkyView Academy qualifies for state meet for 4th consecutive year

The SkyView Academy boys cross country team qualified for the state cross country meet in Colorado Springs for its 4th consecutive year.

The team took second place in the 3A region 5 meet on Friday qualifying runners: Ryan Butler, Jordan Wilson, Jimmy Scavuzzo, Tristan Lee, Brandt DeJager, Zach Zimmer, Andrew Pippin, and alternate freshman Will Scavuzzo.

The Hawk's girls cross country team also had success qualifying two runners, senior Cassie Unruh and junior Payton Grove. Unruh, a state qualifier last year, finished 4th in the regional meet, followed closely by her teammate Grove in 5th place.

SkyView, competing in the 3A division, have still been able to remain competitive in a newly arranged league with former 4A competing schools including D'Evelyn, Elizabeth, and Englewood.

SkyView Academy is one of four teams to qualify for the 3A state meet out of their region, a rule The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) changed this year taking only four teams from a region instead of five.

Look for the SkyView Academy Hawks at the state meet in Colorado Springs this weekend!
