Wheat Ridge scores five unanswered to beat Monarch

DENVER - Wheat Ridge improved to 10-2 on the season after defeating Monarch 9-4 at Coors Field Wednesday afternoon.

Trailing 2-0 going into the top of the fourth, Wheat Ridge scored four runs in the top half of the inning before Monarch would tie the game heading into the fifth.

The Farmers never allowed Monarch to cross the plate again and went on to score five unanswered runs to secure the victory.

Wheat Ridge also played a game later in the day against Alameda, which they won 11-1.
