Holy Family vs Erie football

BROOMFIELD -- The 4-2 Holy Family Tigers tacked on another win against another top 10 team, the Erie Tigers, on Friday night.

Holy Family had a fast start, scoring quick in their first drive on a Stone Samaras to Joe Golter connection followed by an interception by AJ Giron for a pick-6 in Erie's following drive.

Momentum and a turnover on their side, Holy Family was able to shut down the Erie offense and get to the end zone three more times before half to lead 36-0.

In the second half, Erie ached to get on the board and they were finally able to. Erie quarterback Ruben Portillo connected on a long toss to Ethan Fiallo in the corner of the end zone. They now trailed Holy Family 43-7.

Although Erie would score twice more, Holy Family would set reach the end zone one last time to put them out of reach.

No. 10 ranked Holy Family hands No. 8 ranked Erie 43-20.

Samaras would record four touchdowns for Holy Family, two on the ground and two in the air.
