Chauncey Billups mulling retirement

Every summer Chauncey Billups turns in to a coach at his skills camp. But could Billups "the coach" be a full-time thing?

"You don't want to end the way that my last couple of seasons ended," Billups told 9NEWS.

Billups hasn't been healthy for more than two-years and for the first time he is considering retirement.

"It's been very frustrating. But as we know, Father Time is undefeated. He's undefeated. But I can't be too frustrated, I got a lot of miles and a lot of use out of my body," said Billups.

He signed with Detroit last year, but he hasn't played significant minutes since an Achilles Tendon injury with the Clippers.

"But I'm back from that now. Had the knee injury last year. Just getting older, it sucks sometimes you know," Billups said smiling.

With his decision up in the air, there are rumors that Minnesota has talked to Billups about an assistant coaching job.

"That's a no comment, I plead the 5th," said Billups laughing.

In fact Billups said he would pick television or a front office position before coaching.

"Although I know that with a little time I could probably be a good coach," said Billups. "I know a lot about the game, know how to lead, I know how to inspire, how to motivate."

The Denver native says he feels as good as he has in two-plus years which could push him to play one more season.
