KUSA- The Denver Nuggets first round of 2014 NBA draft was an active one. With the 11th pick the Nuggets drafted Doug McDermott from Creighton then four minutes later traded him and Anthony Randolph to Chicago for the Bulls 16th and 19th picks and a second round pick in 2015.
With the 16th pick the Bulls selected Jusuf Nurkic, a seven foot center from the Croatian League who also plays for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team.
"It's my first time in America and I like it," Nurkic said following the draft. "My English is not good but I can try."
Then with the 19th pick the Bulls selected Gary Harris from Michigan State. Harris worked out for the Nuggets on June 5th in Denver as part of their pre-draft workouts.
"I'm looking forward to it. I'm ready to get there and work and I know nothing is going to be given to me," Harris said. "I feel like it could be a great spot."
The trade with the Bulls was finalized almost three hours into the draft officially making them the newest Nuggets.
