Former H.S. Player of the Year joins CSU football team

The Colorado State football team opened its 2014 fall camp on Monday in preparation for the upcoming season.

Jim McElwain begins his second season as their head coach. The Rams are coming off of an 8 and 6 season, including a New Mexico Bowl win over Washington State.

Joining CSU this year is transfer runningback Dee Hart. Hart was the U.S. Army National Player of the Year in 2010 and has spent the previous three seasons at Alabama.

The Orlando native saw limited action in Tuscaloosa and is hoping for a fresh start in Fort Collins.

"Coach Mac has always been one of my favorite coaches I've ever played for," said Hart. "We go way back to Alabama, even before that he recruited me."

CSU will hold their official media day on Tuesday.
