Broncos ate PB&J sandwiches, danced and played Connect 4 during weather delay

USA TODAY - The Broncos’ game against the Cowboys in Week 2 was delayed 62 minutes in the first quarter by lightning. So what did Denver’s players do during the downtime?

“Connect four and we had some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,” linebacker Von Miller said with a laugh after a 42-17 win. “Sat down and had a couple of rock paper scissors in there. We turned on the music and had a little dance contest. Just keeping it light, dancing is always good when you have the time to.”

Broncos coach Vance Joseph said he had the AC turned off during the delay so players would stay warm. He also had NFL games put on the TVs in the locker room.

“The guys relaxed and kind of hung out and talked amongst each other. It was really simple,” Joseph said. “It wasn’t a big deal at all. They called us back about 30 minutes out and it was on again. It wasn’t a huge deal at all.”

Denver led 7-0 before the weather break and scored 35 points after their dance party. Talk about a fun locker room.
