KUSA - Coming off of yet another game that will strike fear in the hearts of quarterbacks everywhere, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller received AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time in his career.
The NFL announced the award on Wednesday. Miller now ties Karl Mecklenburg for the most AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in team history.
During Sunday’s 34-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts, Miller was responsible for three sacks, seven tackles, one pass defense and one forced fumble.
His sacks led all NFL players in week 2. Miller is also now tied with Trevor Pryce for the sixth-most career sacks in Broncos history.
This summer, Miller became the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player when he agreed to a six-year, $114.5 million contract with the Broncos that includes almost $70 million in guarantees.
