Avs win "It's a damn shame", according to Wild's Ryan Suter

KUSA- "It was off sides and they missed the call and it's a damn shame," Wild defenseman Ryan Suter said emphatically after his team lost in overtime to the Colorado Avalanche 4-3. Suter's comments were not only made out of frustration but evidence that Avalanche forward Paul Stastny was off sides on P.A. Parenteau's game-tying goal late in the third period.

Stastny's back skate appears to be off the ice and his front skate was clearly over the blue line. By rule, Stastny has to have one skate in the neutral zone on the ice if his lead skate is in the offensive zone before the puck enters the zone. The linesman was also not in a good position to call offsides, he should've been in the offensive zone watching for the infraction.

"Something about it didn't feel right," forward Zach Parise said. "It felt like they had too much of a step on the play."

Parenteau's goal with just 1:14 remaining sent the game into overtime after Patrick Roy pulled goaltender Semyon Varlamov with 2:22 remaining.

"They definitely got away with a missed call," Suter repeatedly said after the game.
