Wild edge Avs in overtime in Game 7

It all came down to this. And then some more.

Erik Johnson scored with under nine minutes to play for the Avalanche to give them the lead 4-3. But Jared Spurgeon then answered to even the game and force overtime.

Nino Niederreiter ended it with a sharp shot as the Wild defeated the Avalanche 5-4 in overtime.

The winner of Game 7 will move a step closer to the ultimate prize, the Stanley Cup. Either the Avalanche or Wild will advance on to play the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the playoffs.

Colorado is 4-5 in their history in the win-or-go home contests including 4-2 at home.
