Longmont man finishes 15th marathon for charity

LONGMONT – Chris Robbie set out on a mission of endurance on June 16, to complete 15 marathons in as many days to raise money for a Ugandan school.

Robbie is the co-founder of nonprofit Enduring Communities. One of their projects is funding 15 teachers at a small mud-hut school in a tiny Ugandan village.

Robbie, an avid runner, decided to run as many marathons as they had teachers, aiming to raise each educator's salary every race, about $750.

The Longmont native and University of Colorado Boulder grad crossed his final finish line June 30, with his nieces and nephews cheering him on.

He also crossed the finish line having surpassed his fundraising goal at $11,250, enough money to pay each teacher's salary for the upcoming year.
