Power outage at Loveland Ski Area forces lift evacuations

Ski patrol had to evacuate some people from lifts at Loveland Ski Area

KUSA - A power outage forced ski patrol to evacuate people from lifts at Loveland Ski Area on Sunday.

In all, they got six people down around 4 p.m. from the Ptarmigan Lift.

Loveland says it might delay or not even open on Monday.

"It was an unfortunate event, but Ski Patrol trains rigorously for these types of situations," Rob Goodell said, director of business operations. "Everyone was evacuated safely and as quickly as possible. We apologize to our guests for the inconvenience and thank them for their patience."

Loveland says it managed to finish out the day despite the outage and has people working overnight to get the power back on.
