KUSA - It seems like everyone has caught World Cup fever but will it last? The Colorado Rapids certainly hope it will.
"We'll get a few more people to come out to the games," said Pablo Mastroeni. The greatest Rapids player ever and new Head Coach also pointed that, "Nothing happens overnight, it's going to take time."
The television ratings from Tuesdays USA Belgium game, like all of America's games were record setting. Yesterday's match drew more viewers than the World Series, NBA finals and Stanley Cup finals. The World Cup has also been the most watched non football event that ESPN has broadcast.
"Every game every minute," is how much time Rapids Defender Drew Moor has said he has spent in front of the television watching the World Cup.
Moor and the Rapids aren't just watching soccer, they're still busy playing it as well. Colorado will play host to Columbus on the 4th of July at 7pm, which is traditionally their biggest game of the season.
