KUSA - If you missed out on this year's Ride the Rockies lottery, there's still hope to take part in the week long tour June 12th-17th with the 2011 Prologue.
The 2nd annual RTR Prologue kicks off Ride the Rockies week in Crested Butte. Riders will cycle with legends like Ron Kiefel (Seven-time Tour de France competitor and Olympic Bronze medalist), Dave Weins (Six-time Leadville 100 Champion), and Rich Hincapie (President of Hincapie Sportswear). 9News Sports Anchor Susie Wargin will also be riding in the Prologue.
Prologue participants will be treated to lodging June 10th & 11th, a complimentary bike fit and check, private breakfast, fully supported ride, complimentary massage, VIP party, gift bag and admission to Ride the Rockies. Those already riding in the 2011 RTR may also register for the Prologue for a discounted donation.
Ride the Rockies is requesting a donation of $1,500 for those not currently registered and $1,125 for those who are signed up. Proceeds from the ride go directly to The Denver Post Community Foundation which supports nonprofits in the areas of basic human services, youth, literacy and the arts.
