Taunia Hottman re-joined the KUSA-9NEWS team in February 2014 as morning traffic anchor.
It's her second stint at 9NEWS. From 2004 to 2007, she was KUSA's eye in the sky, as morning and evening airborne reporter and photographer aboard SKY9, the 9NEWS helicopter. She was the first in the nation to report from a fully-HD news chopper.
In between stops at 9NEWS, Taunia was a freelance reporter at WFLD-TV in Chicago, and NY1 in New York City. She was also a New York-based writer for CNN, writing for American Morning and The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.
Taunia's TV career started at KWCH-TV in Wichita, Kan., where she worked as a reporter. She also worked as a helicopter reporter at KMBC-TV in Kansas City, and a reporter and host at KSHB-TV in Kansas City.
A native of Kansas, Taunia is a graduate of Wichita State University, where she was also a student athlete.
Taunia's full-time job is being a mom. Her son was born in 2010 and her daughter was born in 2013.
She wishes she had more free time, but when she gets it she enjoys exploring Colorado with her family and hiking or running in the foothills.
