DENVER - Horse racing fans in Denver will be dressed in their best while sipping mint juleps on Saturday.

The Denver Derby Party is the biggest party outside of Louisville's Churchill Downs. But it's more than just cocktails and snazzy Derby style hats.

There's a great cause behind the party.

Terrance Hunt and Scott Anderson are two of the founders of the Sean "Ranch" Lough Memorial Scholarship Foundation, a nonprofit organization that sends students to Colorado State University each year. They started the fund in memory of their friend, Sean Lough, who passed away from a mountain biking accident.

This year, they awarded two full-ride scholarships to two young women. All of the proceeds from the Denver Derby Party benefit these students who may not have the opportunity or means to attend college.

Livabilty.com ranked the event the No. 1 Derby party - outside of Louisville - in the country.

There are a few tickets left. For more information on availability go to DenverDerby.com or the Denver Derby Party Facebook page.
