KUSA – Once regarded as a taboo magazine held behind the counters of stores and stashed away in homes, Playboy is switching gears.

The online edition of the men's lifestyle magazine is straying away from half-naked women and hoping to attract new reads through articles and listicles.

According to the publication Quartz, Playboy has quietly redesigned its website to feature more "Buzzfeed" style posts, lists and slideshows.

Playboy's chief product officer told Ad Age that the change is geared to make people feel more comfortable sharing links on social media sites like Facebook.

While Playboy.com has never featured nudes, but instead provides a link to a subscription-only website, the stigma of the women's nude has stuck.

Digiday revealed that data from Quantcast shows Playboy.com got 5.2 million uniques visitors in July, which they say is essentially flat year-over-year.

They hope the switch can make it easier for the target audience to want to post.
