DENVER - Have you ever seen Chihuahuas race? You can catch this plus great food, music and art at the 27th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th from 10 to 8 pm at Civic Center Park in downtown Denver.
This is the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in the country, offering national exhibits, the best Mexican food Colorado has to offer, vendors, artists, three stages of live music and dance.
The event kicks off with the Cinco de Mayo Parade on Saturday morning at 10am.
If you love green chile, there is the Mission Foods Green Chile Bowl Cook-Off featuring various restaurants and a public "taste and vote" on Saturday. And on Sunday, the "Que Bueno Mexican Grille" Taco Eating Contest!
A very popular event is the fourth annual Chihuahua Races on Sunday at 3 p.m.
New this year is the United State Boxing League, Amateur Division featuring live boxing matches each day of the event.
