DENVER - Over 3,500 Colorado wine aficionados are expected to sample all the velvety, spicy and rustic flavors imaginable at this year's Denver Food and Wine festival, Sept. 3-6.
The Colorado Restaurant Association (CRA) is hosting a series of wine-related events, in their 10th year, that will feature over 800 wines and spirits, as well as cuisine from some of 32 of Denver's best-known restaurants, such as The Fort, Bonefish, Luca d'Italia, The Broadmoor and many more.
"Attendees [are] able to taste great food, able to taste a vast variety of top wines and spirits and to gain information from attending culinarians, wine and spirits professionals," said Mary Mino, president of the CRA's Education Foundation.
Mino runs the CRA's ProStart program, a two-year high school education program that offers students classes in hospitality and food service. Mino said the event series has raised more than $750,000 to date.
"The foundation is the charitable arm of the CRA, so it made sense for us to establish a fundraising event that promotes dining in Denver by featuring restaurants and wine and spirits companies," Mino said.
