I finally did it! That's what you'll hear me say these days when referring to my new gig at 9News. I'm a Producer/Reporter for our morning show and I'm delighted... make that ecstatic... to finally be working for the number one station in my home state.
It's been a long journey for this Denver native. It all began at the University of Denver where I was one of the lucky few to earn a full-ride scholarship to play Division One Volleyball. Yes, I'm a six footer!
After graduation, I landed my first job on the Western Slope as the only Anchor/Reporter/Photographer/Producer at KREY-TV in the beautiful town of Montrose. One year later I was anchoring weekends at KREX in Grand Junction.
My next stop was Tallahassee Florida, where I spent six lovely years chasing hurricanes and learning the true meaning of Worm Gruntin' (ask and I will tell).
In 2008, I left WCTV as the Evening Anchor to pursue my dream of working back home in Denver.
After 12 hard months of knocking on doors and part time gigs in TV and Radio, I made the cut at 9News. Now you see why I say "I finally did it!"
