Friday, the Gillette Entomology Club celebrated its 100th anniversary by trying to change people's negative thoughts about bugs.

"How can you not love bugs? There are so many great reasons to love bugs," president of the Entomology Club Kyle Conrad said.

A Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula, a Giant Asian Mantis and a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach were among those that visited the 9NEWS studios.

Friday night is the official celebration of the annual Bug Bash. It is open to students and the public. It comes all inclusive with a bug petting zoo, bug snacks like edible crickets or and even a showing of a movie called 'Them' which is based on bugs.

If you are interested in attending the celebration, it will be held in the Plant Science Building on the Colorado State University campus from 6 to 10 p.m.
