A 20-year-old mother decided to name her newborn twins Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

She named them hours after the results of the presidential election were announced.

The mother said she named the first baby Barack and the second baby Mitt, in line with the way the candidates finished.

A nurse at the hospital said it is not unusual to give babies famous names.

"Traditionally we find mothers naming their babies after famous people because even in 2008 during the election year some babies were named Barack others were named Joe Biden," Eucabeth, the nursing officer, said. "So you find they tend to pick after people who are in high positions in society or wherever."

Mr. Obama's father is from Kenya, and the newly re-elected president has a strong following there.
