From now until Monday, over 150 children in many Colorado districts will be placed into permanent homes.

However, over 250 children are still waiting to find a home.

9NEWS anchor Kyle Dyer spoke with a Denver adopting couple - Jamie and Becky - about the adoption process.

"It can be really a daunting process when you're on the front end of it and it can be a lot of ups and downs, and some 'hurry up and wait' but it ends well," Jaime said.

The couple also talked about the gratification of closing the deal on an adoption.

"It's the greatest thing that's happened to us, and I think it can be a daunting task, but at the end I think it's worth it," Becky said.

They also talked about the amount of foster kids still looking for homes.

"We get some surprise that they're from right here in Colorado. I think a lot of people just don't realize that there are a lot of kids right here in Colorado that are looking for their family," Jaime said.
