Those who took part in the event pledged to raise $1,000 from friends, family and colleagues through their own online fundraising page to support Attention Homes' homeless and runaway youth services. The Sleep Out was hoping to raise more than $40,000 for Attention Homes' programming.
The schedule went as follows:
7 p.m. - Participants arrive and check-in in the lobby of the First United Methodist Church
7:30 p.m. - Dinner and remarks
9 p.m. - Participants prepare for Sleep Out
10 p.m. - Sleep Out
6 a.m - Light breakfast, departure
The event took place on the lawn of the First United Methodist Church in Boulder. 9NEWS reporter TaRhonda Thomas was on scene Friday morning to get an insight from participants.
